Stern Pinball: The Walking Dead Remastered

Survive the horde. Battle the walkers. Become the Last Man Standing.

Stern Pinball’s The Walking Dead Remastered brings one of the most iconic licensed pinball machines of the modern era back from the dead — rebuilt from the ground up on Stern’s next-generation SPIKE 3 platform. Led by original designer John Borg, the development team has reimagined this fan-favorite title with cutting-edge technology while staying true to the game that defined zombie pinball a decade ago.

Reimagined Toys & Gameplay The playfield features dramatically enhanced versions of the beloved “Cell Block C” Prison building, the bicycle girl ramp, and an all-new interactive Well Walker toy that reacts to gameplay in real time. The signature crossbow shooter — a fan favorite from the original — has been completely re-engineered for sharper precision and smoother mechanical action. New RGB lighting brings the cabinet and playfield to life, while illuminated zombie heads on the slingshots add a menacing visual punch to every flipper hit.

A Ruleset Built to Survive This remaster preserves the revolutionary mode structure and risk-reward mechanics originally crafted by John Borg and Lyman F. Sheats Jr. — rules that helped redefine modern pinball design. Chase down the Prison, Well Walker, and Blood Bath multiballs, push through Dead Feature modes (Barn, CDC, Riot, Tunnel, and Arena), and fight your way to becoming the Last Man Standing… if you can escape Terminus and outlast the Horde.

Next-Gen Visuals & Audio The Walking Dead Remastered debuts striking new visuals that blend high-quality video with a vibrant painterly art style across the cabinet and display. A massive 18.5″ full HD screen with true color depth showcases completely overhauled 3D-rendered graphics and custom animations that pay homage to the original’s classic dot matrix display. New custom audio call-outs from Michael Rooker (Merle) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) deepen the immersion.

Powered by SPIKE 3 Built on Stern’s most advanced electronics platform, this machine features a more powerful processor, immersive high-fidelity audio, improved Wi-Fi connectivity, wireless headphone support, and Stern’s Insider Connected (IC) system for real-time engagement and online connectivity. An updated cabinet lighting customization system allows for striking interior and exterior expression lighting.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the original or discovering The Walking Dead pinball experience for the first time, this remaster delivers an unforgettable, only-in-pinball survival battle — engineered to be the definitive version of a true modern classic.
